B R O K E N   P I E C E S

Broken Pieces, for flute choir, is a piece that explores the breaking and reassembly of an original melody I created. The idea behind the piece is a reconstruction of this melody into different combinations to create new melodies, harmonic clusters, and formal structures.

The piece was originally created for a flute quintet (4 C flutes and 1 alto), but later expanded to full flute choir in 2019. In this revision, the bass part may be doubled with the contrabass flute, if available.
